  • Joey Kirkpatrick and Flora C. Mace are pioneers of early contemporary glass and were close colleagues of Dale Chihuly and William Morris, often trading skills to develop signature works

  • Kirkpatrick made elaborate “drawings” in bent wire that were colored in with glass cane. These drawings were then “picked up” onto the vessel in the hot shop; the process was groundbreaking in its innovation http://www.kirkpatrick-mace.com/
  • With objects from 160 crates of work spanning 1970 to present, the exhibition tells a major chapter in the story of the Studio Glass movement; “There is no doubt that this exhibition is long overdue,” notes MOG Artistic Director Susan Warner
