    Arts Commission Annouces Momentum|Intersection Finalists

  • The second year of Momentum | Intersection, an opportunity that connects artists, designers, and industry professionals at Pilkington Glass North America (Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd.). Inspired by the studio glass movement, The Arts Commission seeks to provide new collaborations between applications of glass as an artistic medium and manufacturing processes.

  • “Emerging Glass” exhibition at Kent State on display from September 4 –October 4

  • Kent State Celebrates 50 Years of Glass

  • Kent State University’s School of Art Collection and Galleries present three exhibitions featuring local and national artists to celebrate 50 years of the School of Art’s studio glass program.
  • Three glass-centric exhibitions will be on view at galleries on and off campus, including a national curated exhibition at the CVA Gallery “Kent State Glass@50,” a national juried exhibition at the Payto Gallery “Emerging Glass,” and a solo exhibition by a Kent State alumnus “Tim Stover: Linear Integration” at the KSU Downtown Gallery. All three exhibitions will be on view starting Sept. 4 with opening receptions from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 6 during the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Kent. All exhibitions and receptions are free and open to the public.
  • A special lecture by Halem about the history of the Kent State glass program and its beginnings will take place at noon Sept. 6 in room 165 at the Center for the Visual Arts. Two artists featured in “Kent State Glass@50,” Marc Petrovic and Kari Russell-Pool, will present a joint lecture at noon Sept. 13 in CVA 165 on their individual and collaborative practice. Both lectures are free and open to the public.

  • Traver Gallery Included in Refract: The Seattle Glass Experience

  • TRAVER GALLERY will be a proud participant in Refract:The Seattle Glass Experience, which will take place October 17-20, 2019. Held at various locations throughout the region, the lineup will include a mix of exhibitions, art parties, talks, tours and demonstrations, along with open studios and collector events.
