Over the years Christina and Robert have periodically worked together in order to make collaborative pieces. There’s a certain alchemy that occurs when they combine their sensibilities.  Robert’s work is often streamlined, formal, and pristine.  Christina’s pieces are whimsical, heart felt, and spiritual.  In recent months Robert has been creating sculptures from hand carved wood.  One of the joys of this medium is that there are less structural constraints that are inherent with glass. In “Strange Fairy” the juxtaposition of wood contrasts with the translucency of the glass.  The glass is effervescent and luminous, while the wood is earthen and gritty.  The opposing sensibilities play off each other, which keep the eye moving around the piece.
