Habatat is honored to be offering this Limited Series sculpture by Latchezar Boyajiev titled The 4th Dimension. Each unique work features optical and color glass that the artist explored early in his career. Latchezar envisioned these visually stimulating sculptures to be reminiscent of achievements and honors received during ones lifetime. We are honored to offering this Habatat Limited!. This offering is limited to 20 and each is made to order. They measure around 9 x 4 x 4 inches. Process is cut and laminated glass.
About the work:
“Being forced to remain isolated in my home/studio made me think about life and what is important to me. I decided to reflect on the current situation by creating a series of limited-edition optical sculptures. Although I am known for my cast glass sculptures for the last 25 years, I began my art career creating optical and colored-glass constructed sculptures.
I chose the cubes as a symbols of being isolated in a box. However, when looking inside the cubes the composition is brought to life. The three colors interact in a great way, just as people do when they are together in isolation.
I named the sculpture “Fourth Dimension”. When observing the four cubes, you see there are three dimensions – height, depth and width. But looking closer inside you see a lot of play of light, reflections and optical illusions that are not really there – and that is what I call the “fourth dimension”. – Latchezar Boyadjiev 2020
