About the work:
“These blown and cast figures are a mixture and development of things going on around me. My daughter is 3 and loves to play with dolls. She loves to dance and wear tutu’s. I have another little girl on the way and the ideas of twirling princesses and music boxes fill my thoughts. I watch gestures that extend a curtsy, and poses that strike silly sass.

I modeled these figures with inspirations from impressionistic paintings and sculpture while thinking about time passing, memories being made and forgotten. These “Dancers” are playful and raw, in sharp contrast to my more meticulous and highly detailed figurative work.” – Dean Allison 2020
