Joseph Cavalieri to Give Two Virtual Lectures at Glass Axis – New!

  • Marketing for Artists and Advice for Art Residencies
  • Wednesday July 1, 2020 7:00 pm EST 1 1/2 hours plus questions
  • Learn how to promote your exhibitions for the most impact. Includes worksheets on why you need to market, and how to define and promote your unique style, and advice on how to get the most from Instagram. Perfect for artists in any stage of their career.
  • Joseph will also present a second lecture on Advice on Artist’s Residencies. He has attended 16, and has lots of tips and ideas for seeking out a residency yourself.

TFAS Returns with TFAS 100+3:  Call for Entries 

  • TFAS100+3: Juried Members’ Exhibit is an all-media competition, open to all artists 18 years of age and older in the Toledo, Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan regions, with independent membership and a TFAS artist directory listing on the org website included in the entry fee.
  • Exhibited artwork will be selected by a distinguished guest juror, Brian Byrn, director and curator of Midwest Museum of American Art, Elkhart, Indiana.
  • Exhibit dates are Oct. 9-Dec. 26.
  • The application deadline is 5 p.m., July 3,2020.
  • Juried honors include over $3,000 in awards, with a Purchase Award of up to $1,500. The Purchase Award will enable the acquisition of an outstanding artwork for the prestigious Toledo Federation of Art Societies’ permanent public collection, acquired from 1948 to the present.
  • Applications must be submitted digitally through the org website. A $40 application fee is required for entry. 100% of submission fee income goes to TFAS for the purpose of furthering their community programming.

Call for Artists for Mix the Medias! New!

  • Mix the Medias exhibition features pop culture art inspired by comics, movies, and more.
  • This exhibition coincides with SOL CON the Brown, Black, and Indigenous Comics Expo that will take place at Glass Axis. SOL CON artists will be provided comic art for the walls but we need you to fill the rest of our gallery space! Your art can be inspired by comics or any pop culture entertainment. As a glass art facility we would prefer all work to contain some glass elements, however, we want to exhibit as much art for artists as possible during this time, so we are accepting all media entries. Artists receive 60% commission of the pieces sold. No fee to apply.
