Toledo Museum To Have Judith Schaechter Exhibition 

  • The Path to Paradise:Judith Schaechter’s Stained-Glass Art
  • June 27 to Oct. 4, 2020
  • More than  40 of Schaechter’s stained-glass panels along with a selection of related drawings and process materials, in Toledo Museum of Art’s Levis Gallery. The objects on view are drawn from both private and institutional collections.

Toledo Museum of Art GAPP Artists 

  • Artists Helen Lee and Joyce Scott will be the 47th and 48th artists to participate in the Toledo Museum of Art (TMA) Guest Artist Pavilion Project (GAPP) program.
  • GAPP invites contemporary artists from around the world to create new work in glass and share their process with the public.
  • Lee will be in residence from March 23 to March 27 and give a free lecture Friday, March 27 in the GlasSalon.
  • Scott will be in residence May 6 to May 15 and give a free artist talk May 14 at 7 p.m. in the Glas Salon.

Bergstrom Mahler Museum of Glass: Wisconsin Ideas – New!

  • This exhibition focuses on the wide-reaching impact Wisconsin glass artists have had on shaping the global landscape of contemporary studio glass over the last 70 years. Exploring the many qualities of the medium, these artists have developed meaningful, lasting works for new generations of audiences and collectors.
  • The exhibit includes the work of artists Beth Lipman, Chuck Savoie, Deanna Clayton, Stephanie Trenchard, Jeremy Popelka, Keith Clayton, Michael Meilahn, Wes and Wesley Hunting, Audrey Handler, John Littleton and Kate Vogel, Kristin Thielking and Lisa Beth Robinson, Jon Clark, Jeffrey Stenbom, Eoin Breadon, Lisa Koch, David Huchthausen, Kent Ipsen, Harvey Littleton, Marvin Lipofsky, and Doug Johnson.

Art Alliance for Contemporary Art Wisconsin Artist Series – New!

Cathryn Shilling at Bender Gallery 

  • Shilling’s Cloaked series are free blown glass vessels with the kiln formed glass cane fabric applied hot. The series is inspired by mythical tragic figures. Blown forms are wrapped in glass cane ‘cloaks’ which mimic cloth, following the contours of the form below.

Toledo Museum of Art Glass Studio Master Classes 

  • The Toledo Museum of Art will host a series of master classes in glass in 2020. Beginning in May and continuing through August, these one-week master classes will offer instruction in a variety of glass techniques including glassblowing, flameworking, stained glass, glass casting, hot sculpting and glass print making.
