Artist: Peter Borkovics

  • The artistic stature of Péter Borkovics on the international scene is rare: he is a synthesizing designer solving the given problems with a creativity reminiscent of Stefan Lindfors or Ron Arad. His designs—ice-cream cups, glasses (Cup series [1992]) and sculptures are consistently elaborated formal technical analyses, inquiring into melting, flowing and suddenly hardening glass at a certain stage, in a given form. The beauty of these solidified glass moments is not only the outcome of the matter but the conscious planning of controlled chance, producing a light conducting organic crystal, a light – space dissolving real space.
