Born in Poland in 1956, Janusz Walentynowicz came to Illinois from Denmark in l982, to study with Joel Philip Myers, head of the glass program at Illinois State University.

A master of kiln cast glass and reverse painting Walentynowicz is admired world wide for his expressive figurative imagery and the intensity of emotion portrayed in his relief’s and sculptures. No artist has been more effective in bridging the gap into the fine arts than Janusz Walentynowicz.

The power of his work has inspired museums in the US, France and Denmark not only to collect his work but to include him in solo, group and juried exhibitions.
